Margaret Bay stratigraphic section.  The deposit is made up largely of volcanic tephra deposits and cultural materials.  Layer 1 contained WWII artifacts and a sterile tephra.  Layer 2  was rich in artifacts and house features.The shell midden - Layer 2a - provided well preserved faunal remains.
