- To locate BOOKS, try a subject search, such as "city planning ", "sociology, urban", "developing countries", "cities and towns", or "housing"
- Browse records of interest to view other related Library of Congress subject classifications.
- Look closely for subdivisions including , "Bibliography", "History and criticism", "Study and Teaching" and for regional specifications such as "Subculture -- Japan -- Case Studies " or Urban ecology -- Brazil -- Rio de Janeiro -- Congresses
- Or try a keyword search, such as "Cities Annotated Bibliography" or "Subculture Urban"
- Call number searches - when you've found relevant works via subject headings or keywords, try doing call number searches using the call numbers listed.

Coverage is from the late 19th century to the present.
Abstracts and indexes the international literature in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences. Provides abstracts of journal articles and citations to book reviews drawn from over 1,809 serials publications, and also provides abstracts of books, book chapters, dissertations, and conference papers. Records added after 1972 contain in-depth and nonevaluative abstracts of journal articles.
