Carpenter Library Circulation and Services
The library is open to the public on weekdays until 5 p.m. After 5 p.m. and on weekends, the library is open to any affiliates of Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore Colleges (students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends of the library, and their guests). Students, faculty, and staff of the University of Pennsylvania are also admitted at any time. All others should make prior arrangements.
B Carpenter Cage books are in the Rare Book Room in Carpenter, and are available when the librarians are present; usually 9 a.m. till 5 p.m. Please call or write ahead if you need to see a Cage book at a particular time. Auction Catalogs are in the cage in the Thomas stacks and are searchable through the following database: http://calliope.brynmawr.edu:8080/AuctionCat/auctioncathome.htm. They are not cataloged in Tripod.

For information on other types of materials, renewals, recalling books, fines: Bryn Mawr Library Circulation Policies Carpenter workers: access the desk schedule on-campus access only. Reserve materials for courses in History of Art, Archaeology, Classics, and Cities are shelved behind the circulation desk. Two items may be checked out at a time for two hours, and are normally for in-house use. Check Tripod for course reserves, or click on the "Reserves" link at the top of the Tripod home page. Search courses by number (e.g., ARCH 101), by name, or by professor's last name. Online reserves (e-reserves) are accessible on the Blackboard Learning System. CARPENTER SERVICES AND POLICIES Carrels are assigned to graduate students and senior majors in Classics, History of Art, Archaeology, and Cities. The carrel agreement sets out each carrel holder's responsibilities. Classrooms are scheduled through Conferences and Events. Each classroom is equipped with a PC, a Mac, a multistandard DVD player and VCR, and overhead projector. For details on each classroom, see the Multimedia Services website. Computer Lab: Computers, flatbed scanner, and video (dvd and vhs tape) viewing equipment. Headphones and dvd remote can be checked out at the circulation desk. Food and drink. Drinks in spill-proof containers with lids are allowed (styrofoam and paper cups are not allowed). Food is not allowed. Lockers are available on floor B and are assigned at the circulation desk. Photocopiers: 2 on Level A and 1 on Level B. There is a change machine (for $1 and $5 bills) and a copycard dispenser that takes denominations up to $20 (but does not give change).
