Transfer Applicants

Transfer applicants for undergraduate admission must submit:

  • The Common Application for Transfer Students
  • Bryn Mawr Member Page (Common Application Supplement)
  • High School Transcript(s) for each high school attended (The Secondary School Report form, normally submitted by a guidance counselor, is not required.) If high school transcript does not indicate the successful completion of high school graduation, a GED certificate is required.
  • 2 Academic Evaluations* (Letters of recommendations from 2 different professors or evaluators)
  • College Registrar’s Report(s) and Official Transcript(s) for each college attended (A dean or advisor may also submit the College Registrar’s Report and transcript on behalf of the applicant.)
  • Official SAT or ACT scores
  • TOEFL (if applicable)
  • Interviews are strongly recommended

* NOTE:  Applicants who have not attended college for more than 3 years can request permission to submit letters from non-academic recommenders (i.e. employers, colleagues, mentors, etc.) These references should comment as much as possible about the skills necessary for academic success such as writing, research, critical thinking, time management, ability to engage with new challenges, etc. Please submit your request to the Transfer/McBride Coordinator at

Transfer applicants who will be 24 years of age or older at the time of enrollment are designated at Bryn Mawr as McBride Scholars. These students participate in all the same classes and programs as traditional-aged students, but also have access to special advising if needed.
