For many years, the Bryn Mawr community has counted a substantial number of scholars from overseas among its members. Currently, almost 10 percent of Bryn Mawr's undergraduates come from outside the U.S. This means they are either nationals of countries other than the United States, hold dual citizenship, or are U.S. citizens living abroad.
One of the College's primary goals is to prepare students to live and work in the highly interdependent world and global economy of the 21st century. Thus the College, is committed to building a diverse, multicultural community as part of its educational mission. Faculty and their scholarship also contribute to this diversity. Over 80 percent of the faculty in the humanities and social sciences have primary teaching and research interests in international topics.
