To be considered a transfer student at Bryn Mawr, you must have completed a minimum of one semester of college level work at an accredited two- or four-year college. You must also be under the age of 24 when you begin your course work at Bryn Mawr.
The Katharine E. McBride Scholars Program was created to give women, 24 or above, who for one reason or another did not begin or complete their education immediately following high school, an opportunity to attend Bryn Mawr. Checklist of Required Materials
To be considered for admission, applicants must submit the following materials:
*McBride applicants who have not attended college within the last three years may be excused from providing these documents applicants, but must furnish additional letters of reference. Furthermore, they must request, in writing, a waiver of material from the Director of the McBride Program.

The minimum testing requirement for transfer students is the SAT of the College Entrance Examination Board or the ACT (Assessment of the American College Testing Program). However, transfer students may also elect to take advantage of Bryn Mawr’s “test flexible” option. Bryn Mawr requires official SAT and AP score reports from the College Board. Official ACT scores must be sent from the ACT, Inc. Our testing codes are located below.

U.S. Citizens Living Domestically or Abroad and Permanent Residents
To be considered for grant support from the College, applicants must respond “Yes” to the Financial Aid Intent Question, “Are you applying for need-based financial aid?” on the Common Application for Transfers. Only applicants who complete the financial aid application process prior to being admitted are eligible to be considered for institutional grant assistance during any of their subsequent years of enrollment. Late applicants may not receive full consideration for funding.
1. COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP SERVICE (CSS) PROFILE
Register for your customized CSS PROFILE at www.collegeboard.com at least two weeks before the deadline. The Bryn Mawr College code is #2049. Follow instructions provided on the College Board website.
2. COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP SERVICE (CSS) NONCUSTODIAL PROFILE
If your parents are divorced, separated, or have never been married, your noncustodial parent is required to complete and submit a Noncustodial Parent CSS PROFILE, available at www.collegeboard.com at least two weeks before the deadline. The Bryn Mawr College code is #2049. Follow instructions provided on the College Board website.
3. FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA)
File the FAFSA as soon as possible to meet the deadline. The 2010-11 FAFSA can be completed starting January 1, 2010. Most applicants complete the online version of the FAFSA at www. fafsa.gov. To sign the online FAFSA electronically, you and your parent (or spouse if applicable) must obtain a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov. 4. SIGNED FEDERAL TAX RETURNS
Completion of the CSS PROFILE will prompt the College Board to send you instructions about how to submit your federal income tax returns or non-tax-filer statements to Bryn Mawr College using their Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC) at no cost to you. Submit signed photocopies of all federal (no state) income tax returns for the student, parents, and spouse if married. Business and personal returns, including all W-2 forms, statements, attachments and schedules for both custodial and noncustodial parents, stepparents, applicant and applicant’s spouse are required.
NOTE: McBride applicants who meet the federal definition of independent status at the time of admission are not required to submit parental information, but must submit spousal information if married. McBride applicants under the age of 24 who are not married must include parent information as part of the application.
Additional forms may be required as a result of special circumstances or if questions arise during the financial aid review process.
