At a reunion last spring of the Night Owls are, from left (top) Courtney Seibert ’99 and A.J. Nadelson ’98; (bottom) Sara Jacob ’99 and Suzanne Mills ’99; Joanne Book ’95, Taleigh Smith ’98, Madeleine Bourgeois ’96, ThaoMi Nguyen ’95, Sara Jacob ’99 and Julia Rivellino ’93. Brooke Stengel ’91 writes: “I started the Night Owls in February 1989 with Laura Sheinkopf ’92 because Bryn Mawr didn’t have an a cappella group. After a campus-wide call to auditions, we started the group with 12 women. During that first semester, we performed at Oberlin, Bryn Mawr and Haverford. In addition to having the moral support of our family and friends, we also had a lot of help with organizational issues and arrangements from George Burr, father of Cindy Burr Ramsey ’92 and a founding member of the Tufts Beelzebubs, an all-male group.”
