The face of a “goddess” was carved by sculptor Barbara Yates on a willow stump at the entrance to a dell being created along the stream behind Rhoads. Yates specializes in carving intricate designs, animals and people into wood, usually using an old tree stump in the process. She has traveled across the globe doing her work and hosted a woodworking workshop for Bryn Mawr students this April. The cover inset shows Horticulturalist and Director of Grounds, Robert E. Burton, during a Reunion tour of the campus grounds, at the foot of Faculty Row looking up towards the playing fields and the main campus.
