Allegra Fletcher '12 performs one of her songs in the Sisterhood Culture Show on April 18, which celebrated Harlem and its Apollo Theater with musical, dancing, singing, and comedy routines. From Dorchester, Massachusetts, Fletcher has been singing since she was a baby, according to her mother. She started writing songs when she was 12 and living in New Orleans, and began guitar lessons in the ninth grade in Boston. She describes her music—acoustic, folk, and soul—as a "fusion of my life experiences and my walk with God." Fletcher performs frequently and has had some studio recording experience, most recently working with London producer and musician Daniel Duncan. She shares recordings that she makes herself on her Facebook page, YouTube, and profiles on artist websites. Photo by Paola Nogueras '84.
