Dear 1949 Classmate,
You do, of course, have the dates of our 56th reunion – May 27-29, 2005 – noted on your calendars. The College is moving along with plans for us. This is a cluster reunion with 1949, '50, and '51. We will be housed in Rhoads. Friday night dinner will be in a tent with all the classes except the 40 th and 50 th reunioners. Saturday lunch will be in Rhoads.
On Saturday afternoon we will be viewing a video of “Mona Lisa Smile.” This movie stars Julia Roberts playing an art professor and her interaction with the class of 1950 at an unnamed women's college. Most of the filming was done at Wellesley which makes it especially interesting to me, as my daughter graduated from Wellesley.
The College is arranging for us to have Saturday night dinner in the Ely Room in Wyndham. You will be receiving the official invitation and schedule in due time from the College. At that time we will be offered to buy a memento of Reunion. This time we have chosen a pen and notepaper set.
Mary Beetlestone Brown has done yeoman work already, calling many of our classmates about their plans. So far several people have indicated planning to be there for part of all of the weekend: Lil Streeter Chance, Ellen Tan and Charlie Drake, Skip Martin Eccles, Norma Bernstein Kahn, Joan Robbins Nathan, Brenda Bowman Turner, Sally Darling Wimmer, Sally Loomis Campbell, Eve Osler Hampson, and of course Mary and I.
Good wishes to all for a good 2005. Needless to say, I look forward to seeing all of you.
