Alaska ranks as one of the world's greatest destinations
for natural history and pristine beauty. Its soaring peaks, mighty glaciers,
bountiful wildlife and rich heritage provide an ideal environment for
families to explore and learn together about the last American frontier.
In the summer of 2002 we are pleased to present an exciting family adventure
to Alaska.
A well-rounded educational program available for all ages makes this Alaskan journey unique. Bryn Mawr College Professor Rick Davis will be the study leader for this program and he is excited about exploring Alaska with alumnae/i and friends. Professor Davis' current teaching interests reflect much of his research work in Alaska, and this includes Human Ecology, Traditional Technology, Paleolithic Archaeology and Method and Theory in Archaeology. Our co-sponsor for this program is the Alumnae Association of Mount Holyoke College, which will also provide a study leader. Throughout the trip, our two study leaders will lead a strong adult education program through informative lectures and discussions, and a Young Naturalist program directed by professional children's educators offers a series of fun activities and projects for the youngsters.
