Jacob Mullins enters his second year as Bryn Mawr's assistant athletic director for sports information and compliance. Mullins became the departments second full time sports information and compliance director when he was hired in August 2006. Mullins acts as a liaison to the Centennial Conference and local, regional and national sports media, and is responsible for all media aspects of Bryn Mawr's intercollegiate sports. As compliance director, Mullins ensures that Bryn Mawr's coaches, athletes, staff, administration and other institutional figures adhere to NCAA rules and regulations as well as promote the Division III philosophy. The Newark, Delaware native comes to Bryn Mawr from Gallaudet University, the only institution of higher learning dedicated to the deaf and hard of hearing. While at Gallaudet, Mullins was in charge in all aspects of the Sports Information Office and the sole publisher of athletic publications. Before D.C., Mullins worked at West Chester University of Pennsylvania with marketing and promotions for all 23 Division II sports. Mullins, a 2004 graduate of Lynchburg College in Virginia, earned his Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management. While at Lynchburg, Mullins was a standout on their track and field team, earning numerous academic awards as well as All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honors in 2002, 2003, and 2004 in the javelin throw. After completing his BA, Mullins moved to Muncie, Indiana were he graduated in December of 2005 with his Master's Degree in Sports Administration for Higher Education at Ball State University. Mullins is a member of the National Association of Collegeiate Directors of America (NACDA), National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC), and College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He also serves as an administrative delegate and representative of Bryn Mawr College at Centennail Conference meetings. Mullins resides in West Chester with his wife, Melissa. The couple are expecting their first child in July. |
