BADMINTON BLANKS HAVERFORD 9-0

Bryn Mawr, Pa. – The Owls soared to a 9-0 victory over visiting Haverford College in badminton Thursday night besting their record to 2-0 on the season.

In doubles action, the number 1 team of Jeanette Kwon and Jennifer Huh defeated Wu/Rockoff-Kirk 21-18, 21-13. Bo Yeon Kim and Priscy Pais topped Chow/Viet 21-10, 21-14 as Whitney Chambers and Erika Lippoldt at the #3 won by forfeit.

In singles play, Ashley Himelfarb and Belinda Leung defeated their opponent 21-6, 21-8 and 21-7, 21-1, respectively. Pais rolled to a 21-6, 21-5 victory as Huh won her decision 21-5, 21-5. Simona Radu bested Chow 21-2, 21-13 while Chambers won by forfeit.

Bryn Mawr improves to 2-0 in the Intercollegiate Badminton Association action. The Owls will now be off until January 31, 2007 as they host Bryn Athyn at 7:30 p.m. in Schwartz Gymnasium.
