Swarthmore, Pa. – Host Swarthmore won five singles matches to secure a 6-3 victory over Bryn Mawr in NCAA action on a cold and snowy Wednesday evening.
The Owls took a 2-0 lead following doubles as Jeanette Kwon and Markie Hill , at number 2 doubles, defeated Kelly/Lama 21-12, 21-11. At #3 doubles, the team of Bo Yeon Kim and Jennifer Huh toppled Maanz/Zou 21-13, 21-11.
The Garnet flipped the score to their favor as they won at number 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 singles. The Owls number 5 player, Hill , had to use all three sets to defeat Alece Xiang 14-21, 21-10, 21-18.
The loss drops the Owls to 6-1 on the season in the Intercollegiate Badminton Association and 1-1 in NCAA play. -006-
