Bryn Mawr has a long history of national and international recognition in badminton, winning the National Championship in 1995 and 1996 and boasting five All-Americans.
The team has strong players in the top positions and relies on newcomers for depth. Many team members learn the basics while at Bryn Mawr and excel to great levels by the time they graduate. Team coaching includes footwork, stroke production and strategy which is reinforced during a spring training trip.
Badminton has been one of the most successful teams on campus in recent years. The team was undefeated during its regular season schedule from 2001-2004 and won the collegiate competition at the PA States in 2005. At the PA States in '05, Bryn Mawr's team captain won the women's open singles title and the team captured first place in the A, B and C singles divisions.
Bryn Mawr plays a comprehensive schedule against other college teams in addition to annual tournaments such as the Mid-Atlantic Classic, Northeast Regionals, PA States, and Main Line Doubles.
