Bryn Mawr, Pa. – Junior co-captain Jessica Allen netted a game-high 17 points as the Owls fell to Swarthmore 55-46 in non-conference action Tuesday night in Schwartz Gymnasium.
The Owls were down 27-22 at the half despite leading the Garnet by three, twice. Bryn Mawr converted for 14 points in the paint and 12 points off turnovers during the first 20 minutes of play. Swarthmore outscored the Owls in the second 28-24 to secure their fourth win of the season.
In addition to her 17 points, Allen grabbed six rebounds and dished out 2 assists. Senior Katie Driscoll and sophomore Shanika Bridges-King each tallied 10 points on the evening. Driscoll recorded a game-high 5 assists while Bridges-King grabbed seven rebounds. Junior Julia Harris had a team-high eight rebounds, five steals, and two blocked shots.
Pacing Swarthmore was Kathryn Stockbower with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Laura Popovics had a team-high 17 points.
The Owls are now 2-6 overall while Swarthmore improves to 4-4. Bryn Mawr is now off for winter break and will return to action when they travel to California on January 5 and 6 in the New Year.
