Bryn Mawr, Pa. – Junior co-captain Jessica Allen netted a team-high 13 points as the Owls fell to the visiting Gettysburg Bullets 84-43 in Centennial Conference action Wednesday night.
The Owls held a four-point lead at 18:00, but the Bullets were relentless as they took a 40-19 lead at the half. Sophomore Shanika Bridges-King had a team-high seven points at the intermission. Gettysburg outscored the Owls 44-24 in the second half en route to their seventh win of the season.
Bridges-King ended the night with 11 points, two assists, and one steal as sophomore Caroline Heffernan had a game-high three steals and one block shot. Senior co-captain Katie Driscoll added nine points as freshman Emilie Naccarato chipped in seven.
Gettysburg outshot Bryn Mawr 53.8%-32.5% for the game as well as holding a 38-27 advantage in rebounding.
The loss drops the Owls to 3-8 overall and 0-5 in Centennial action as the Bullets improve to 7-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play. Bryn Mawr returns to action Saturday, January 12, as they travel to Baltimore to face the Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
