NACCARATO SINKS 14 ON THE ROAD AT URSINUS

Collegeville, Pa. – Freshman transfer Emilie Naccarato dropped a team-high 14 points, in a losing effort on the road at Ursinus. The Bears defeated the Owls 52-40 in Centennial Conference play.

Junior co-captain Jessica Allen notched another double-double on the season with her 11 points and team-high 10 rebounds, as well as dishing out a team-high three assists. Senior co-captain Katie Driscoll added 12 points and four rebounds as sophomore Shanika Bridges-King tallied eight rebounds and four steals on the evening.

At the half, the game was deadlocked at 20, but Ursinus outscored the Owls 32-20 in the second stanza to pick-up their sixth conference victory on the year. Ursinus outshot Bryn Mawr 28.3%-22.4% from the floor as they Owls held a 42.9%-28.6% from shots beyond the arch.

Leading the Bears was Alex Shivers with 20 points and 20 rebounds. Sarah Hennessey added 11 points for Ursinus. Shivers 20-20 performance was the first in the Centennial  since Swarthmore's Karen Berk turned the trick against the Owls nearly one year to the day (1/23/07).

Bryn Mawr is now 4-12 overall and 1-8 in conference play as Ursinus improves to 8-7 on the season and 6-2 in Centennial play. The Owls return to action Thursday night as they travel to Chestertown, Md. to take on the Shorewomen of Washington College. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
