Bryn Mawr, Pa. – Senior co-captain Katie Driscoll netted a team-high 16 points as the Owls fell to visiting Franklin & Marshall 49-66 on senior day.
Before the game, there was a brief ceremony as Bryn Mawr head coach Katie Tarr spoke about her two seniors, Driscoll and Stephanie Wujcik. Following the ceremony, it was time for Centennial Conference hoops action.
The game got off to a slow start as both team combined for 10 points during the first five minutes of play. Over the next five minutes, Franklin and Marshall started to pull away as they doubled-up the Owls 14-7. In the final 10 minutes of the first-half, the Diplomats outscored Bryn Mawr 21-12 as they took a commanding 35-19 lead.
During the second twenty minutes, the Owls stayed right with F&M as Driscoll went 3-4 from beyond the arch and junior co-captain Jessica Allen was perfect from the charity stripe (4-4). The Dips outscored the Owls 31-30 in the second-half to secure their 17 th victory of the season.
For the Owls, Allen netted 11 points and grabbed six rebounds as sophomore Shanika Bridges-King snagged a team-high 10 rebounds. Bridges-King and freshman Callie Jensen both added seven points apiece while freshman Emilie Naccarato chipped in six points.
For Franklin and Marshall, Cara Landolfi led all scorers with 20 as Beth Holt knocked-in 17. Brittany Braxton picked-up the games only double-double as she grabbed 13 rebounds and totaled 12 points.
The Owls are now 5-19 overall and 2-17 in conference action as the Diplomats improve to 17-6 on the season and 12-4 in conference play. The Owls wrap up their season this Wednesday as they host Johns Hopkins at 7:00 p.m. -Box Score-
