April 28, 2007 - The Bryn Mawr College Rowing Program traveled to York, Pa. Saturday to compete at the Mid-Atlantic D-III Collegiate Regional Championship Regatta. BMC placed 3rd in the team point tally out of the nine programs which competed in the event. Their third place finish marks the first time in Crew program history that Bryn Mawr placed in the top three in the Regional Championships.
The Varsity 8 finished fourth out of six boats while the Novice 8 placed first ahead of Washington (Md.) College crew. The novice’s first place finish was also a program first; as the first BMC crew to win a regional championship event.
Seniors Hilary Richardson (Ashland, OR/Ashland) and Tara Anderson (Brick, NJ/Phillips Acad. Andover) received All Mid-Atlantic Championship accolades while Jenny Sichel (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) picked up All Mid-Atlantic Championship Novice Team honors.
The Rowing Program will be off next weekend as they train for their final race of the season, the Dad Vail Regatta on May 11 and 12 on the Schuylkill River.
