Marci (Lippert) Scheuing begins her second season at the helm of the Bryn Mawr College field hockey program.

Scheuing comes to the Main Line following three years as the head field hockey coach and Sports Information Director and one year as head lacrosse coach at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pa. As the field hockey coach, Scheuing was named the Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC) Field Hockey Coach of the Year in her third season as head coach at Cedar Crest. She helped the Falcons improve from being outscored 96-5 in 2007 to 30-25 in 2009.

While at Cedar Crest, Scheuing coached two First-Team All-CSAC selections, two Second-Team selections and two Honorable Mention selections. The field hockey team received the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Team Award two years in a row and was also named the 2008 CSAC Sportsmanship Team of the Year.

As a player, Scheuing was a member of two nationally-ranked field hockey teams at Mansfield University, including an ECAC Championship team in 2001. Named the Most Improved Player at Mansfield in 2002, Scheuing served as team captain of the Mountaineers in 2004, and was named to the DII All Star Team in the same season.

Following a successful college career, Scheuing began her coaching career at Garden Spot in Lancaster, PA in 2006. She has also been employed by Diane Moyer’s Premier Field Hockey Camp since 2007.

Following a year-long internship in athletic media relations at the University of Delaware, Scheuing served as the Interim Sports Information Director at Millersville University during the fall of 2006. She also worked as a student-worker in the Sports Information Department at Mansfield for four years.

She received a B.S. in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Mansfield, where she was recognized as a Presidential Scholar Athlete, and also received her M.Ed. in Athletic Administration at Millersville University.

A 2008 graduate of the NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy, Scheuing is a member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) and also is a member of the Mansfield University Athletic Development Committee.

Scheuing is currently a coach for the Typhoon Field Hockey Club, a team based out of the United Sports Center in Downingtown. She is responsible for the 16 and under age group for Typhoon.

Marci and her husband, Matt, reside in Reading, PA. Matt is a U.S. History teacher at Penn Manor HS in Millersville, PA and the pitching coach for the Franklin & Marshall College baseball team.
