Bryn Mawr College Field Hockey Overview

Field Hockey has been an intercollegiate sport at Bryn Mawr for over one hundred years. The sport was introduced to the United States by Bryn Mawr's first Director of Physical Education, Constance Applebee. "The Apple" coached 65 years of women's field hockey, 25 of them at Bryn Mawr.

Pre-season practice for the field hockey team begins in August with the regular season commencing in September. There is a non-traditional season in the spring. Bryn Mawr Field Hockey competes in the NCAA Division III as a member of the Centennial Conference.
