Head Coach: Katie TarrSince the 2004 season, Katie Tarr has been at the helm of the Bryn Mawr lacrosse program. Throughout her tenure as coach, the team has seen continued improvement and success. Also a physical education senior lecturer, Tarr is excited for the future of Bryn Mawr lacrosse. Through hard work, dedication and fun, the women of the lacrosse program continue to build on their successes from the previous seasons. Prior to Bryn Mawr, Tarr completed her Master's of Science in Higher Education Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. At Penn, Tarr served as an assistant lacrosse coach and as a graduate assistant for the Executive Doctorate Program in Higher Education Management and Penn Center for Higher Education Management. As a four-year member of the basketball team, she helped lead the Garnet to a Centennial Conference title and a second round NCAA National Tournament appearance during her junior season. Tarr also earned the Cochran-Bond Award for leadership and sportsmanship her junior year and served as a team captain during her senior campaign. She left Swarthmore with a number of basketball records and still holds the career record for games played. In addition to her four years of basketball and lacrosse at Swarthmore, Tarr also played four years of field hockey, captaining her senior season. Tarr was also the head basketball coach at Bryn Mawr from the 2004-2005 season through the 2008-2009 season. During her time, she coached three All-Centennial Conference players, recorded the most conference wins during the 2006-07 season with three, and recorded the programs only victory Franklin and Marshall on February 3, 2007. Tarr saw Jessica Allen ’09 and Amy Johnson ’07 eclipse the 1,000 points mark as well as watching them both set the school record for career points. During the five year span, she had 11 players named to the Centennial Conference Honor Roll 16 times. Additionally, Tarr is a certified trainer for the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), a non-profit organization that works with coaches, parents, and recreational and school sport organizations to provide positive sports experiences for youth. She is also the co-director of the Snell-Shillingford Coaching Symposium, which focuses on educating college age women on the opportunities in coaching. Returning to the classroom, Tarr is pursuing her Doctorate in Education in Higher Education at the University of Pennsylvania. Tarr currently resides in Media, Pennsylvania with her husband, Brian Byrnes, and their son, Jack. Assistant Coach: Deb CharamellaDeb Charamella, who is also an assistant coach for the Bryn Mawr basketball team, enters her second season as an assistant coach with the lacrosse team this spring. Charamella captained the basketball team for three seasons and played four years for the Owl hoopsters. Before graduating in the spring of 2005, Charamella left an impressive mark on the Bryn Mawr basketball program. A second-team All-Centennial Conference selection after her senior season, Charamella ranks 9th in the all-time Centennial Conference assist leaders and is Bryn Mawr's all-time assist leader with 348 assists during her career. Additionally, Charamella scored 934 points and had 199 steals in her three seasons with the Owls. This past summer, Charamella competed in Australia in the 2005 Eastern University Tournament, in which her team took home the bronze medal. Assistant Coach: Stephanie Wujcik
