LAX DOUBLES-UP ARCADIA 14-7

Bryn Mawr, Pa. – Lacrosse got back on the winning track today as they defeated visiting Arcadia 14-7. The Owls were led by Moriah Scott with six goals en route to their third victory of the season.

BMC struck first and often as they took a 10-3 lead into the half. Greta Flaherty got the Owls on the board first, fifty-six seconds into the game. She then went between the pipes at 4:40, 6:59, and 23:17 for four of her five goals in the game.

Scott netted four of her six goals in the first-half as Georgia Lawrence and Jessica Wurtz rounded out the Owls first-half scoring attack.

Arcadia's Jill Hersh tied the game at one, when she scored at 3:08. She added another goal at 8:20 as Jamie Stevenson pulled the Knights within two, 5-3, at the 18:36 mark.

In the second-half, the Knights' Luminita Hamilton drew first blood with her goal twenty-three seconds in. The Owls then responded with four unanswered goals. Scott scored two, while Katie Kellom and Flaherty added the others to push Bryn Mawr's lead to ten, 14-4.

Arcadia answered with two goals by Stevenson as she took passes from Jakki Timony and Erin Cunnigham at 13:18 and 21:20, respectively, to pull within eight. Shannon Bustin, of Arcadia, scored the games final goal at 25:12.

Bryn Mawr outshot the Knights 26-23 and held a 13-10 advantage in draw controls. The black and yellow were 14-for-25 on clears while scooping up 27 ground balls.

Flaherty dished out four assists and Lawrence added one. Kellom caused six turnovers while Stephanie Wujcik forced three. Scott won five draw controls as Kellom snagged four.

Kellom scooped up six ground balls while Karen Von Dollen picked-up from the turf. Steph Hilton posted 11 saves in the net.

Leading the Knights was Stevenson with three goals as Hersh added two. Bustin and Hamilton netted one apiece. Bustin, Cunnigham, and Timony all recorded assists on the day.

The Owls are now 3-2 on the season while Arcadia drops to 1-2. Bryn Mawr opens up Centennial Conference play on Thursday, March 27, as they host rival Haverford. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
