FLAHERTY NETS CAREER GOAL #100 AGAINST MCDANIEL

Bryn Mawr, Pa. – Senior Greta Flaherty became the eighth person in Bryn Mawr lacrosse history to score 100 career goals. Her goal at the 3:51 mark in the second-half was the Owls lone goal of the afternoon as McDaniel defeated Bryn Mawr 14-1 in conference action.

The Terror got on the board first, forty-four seconds into the game, and had a 7-0 lead at the six minute mark. McDaniel added five more goals in the first-half to take a commanding 12-0 lead at the half.

In the second, McDaniel netted the first goal of the half at 1:34. Just over two minutes later, Flaherty scored her 100 th career goal and the team best 24 th goal of the season. The final goal of the game was scored by McDaniel at 10:26.

For Bryn Mawr, Stephanie Wujcik scooped-up four groundballs as Caroline Heffernan and Georgia Lawrence added three each. Lawrence, Katie Kellom, and Moriah Scott each had two draw controls while Flaherty has two caused turnovers.

The Terror outshot the Bryn Mawr 34-9 and held a 29-19 lead in groundballs. They were 16-for-19 on clears and forced 21 Owl turnovers.

Leading McDaniel was Erinn Hopkins with three goals. Kerrie Wuenschel, Chelsea Ferruzzi, and Brittany Baer recorded two goals apiece as five other Terror players added one. Wuenschel had three assists while Lisa Jurd and Kristin Mele had two. Jennifer Stone tallied one assist on the game.

The Owls are now 3-5 overall and 0-2 in conference action as the Terror improves to 6-3, 2-2 in Centennial play. Bryn Mawr is back in action on Thursday, April 3, as they host Ursinus at 4:30 p.m. on Applebee Field.
