FLAHERTY NETS FIVE AGAINST URSINUS

Bryn Mawr, Pa. – Senior co-captain, Greta Flaherty, netted five goals as the Owls fell to the visiting Ursinus Bears, 15-6, in Centennial Conference action.

Ursinus scored the first goal of the game at 3:43 as Lindsey Urban connected for one of her five goals on the afternoon. The Bears added five more to take an early 6-0 lead at the 15:31 mark.

Flaherty took a pass from Georgia Lawrence and went between the pipes for her first goal of the game at 19:51. Urban pushed the Ursinus lead to six with her third goal of the half at 24:16. The Bears took a 7-1 lead into the half.

In the second, Ursinus' Kaitlin Glenn scored the first goal of the half at 10:41. Back-to-back goals from Flaherty pulled the Owls within five with just over fifteen to play.

Stephanie Kaysen pushed the Bears lead to five, 9-3, at the 15:00 minute mark. The Owls answered as Lawrence scored her only goal of the game at 15:54, followed by Flaherty's fourth goal at 19:42.

Six unanswered goals by Ursinus pushed their lead to 10, 15-5 with just under two minutes to play. Bryn Mawr scored the final goal of the game with forty-sevens ticks left as Flaherty scored her fifth goals of the game.

Flaherty had a game-high six groundballs as Jessica Lee had three. Moriah Scott won four draw controls and Katie Kellom won two. Flaherty and Lee forced three Ursinus turnovers a piece.

Leading the Bears was Urban with five goals and one assist as Glenn netted three goals. Kaysen and Lisa Clark registered two goals while three others found the back of the net once. Kaysen and Amy Sezack added two and one assists, respectively.

The Owls were 8-for-14 on clears and held a slight 19-18 advantage in groundballs.

Bryn Mawr falls to 3-6 and 0-4 in conference play as Ursinus improves to 4-6 and 2-1 in Centennial action. The Owls return to action on Saturday, April 5, as they host Dickinson. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
