Bryn Mawr, Pa. – The Owls used an 8-0 first-half lead to close out their 2008 season with a 13-3 victory over visiting Immaculata University Thursday afternoon on Applebee Field.
Bryn Mawr's first-half was powered by four goals from Greta Flaherty while Moriah Scott netted three and Georgia Lawrence scored one. Flaherty added three assists while Scott, Cara Cogliuzzo, and Jessica Wurtz tallied one assists each.
After half-time, Lawrence got the Owls on the board 29 seconds into action. Immaculata's Claire Lichty netted the Mighty Macs first goal at 1:55. Bryn Mawr answered with three goals, one by Wurtz and two from Flaherty. Jenna Specht pulled Immaculata within ten with her goal at 19:25.
The Owls last goal of the game came from Caroline Heffernan as Scott assisted on the play. All scoring was wrapped up with 48 second left in game as the Mighty Mac's Jenn Norris scored unassisted.
With her six goals on the day, Flaherty closes her collegiate career with 131 goals, good for third place. Scott is eighth with 107 career goals. Today also marks the final collegiate game that Flaherty, Jessica Lee, Scott, Stephanie Wujcik, and Wurtz played in.
The Owls finish the season 5-11 while the Mighty Macs fall to 1-12. -Box Score-
