Ron Ziegler will begin his fourth season as Bryn Mawr's head rugby coach this fall. Ziegler received his BS in Athletic Administration from St. John's University , N.Y. and completed extensive post graduate study in Commercial Recreation Management from Adelphi University . He has completed a certificate program in Athletic Training from Montclair State University . Additionally, he is recognized by the International Rugby Board as a certified Rugby Coach.

During his time as an undergraduate, he participated in Division I club rugby at the highest level of rugby in the USA at that time and semi-professional baseball.

Ziegler is a founding father of the North Penn Rugby Club and began coaching rugby in 1988 with the NPRFC U-19 Boys team. Most recently, Ziegler has been the head coach of the North Penn Rugby U-19 Girls team (2000-present). Six players who started their rugby career under Ziegler had invitations to tryout for the USA National teams; three of those six players were selected for the national team. Previously he has coached softball, baseball, and basketball.

Outside of coaching, Ziegler is the principal in RJZ SPORTS MANAGEMENT, a sports marketing and management consulting business. He also conducts professional development workshops and seminars on coaching for schools and community based organizations and speaks to groups of youth athletes and parents on sports ethics and sportsmanship.
