SOCCER RAISES OVER $1,200 FOR THE SANDY ROLLMAN OVARIAN CANCER FOUNDATION Philadelphia, Pa. - On Saturday, April 26, the Bryn Mawr College soccer team participated in the 4 th Annual Sandy Rollman Teal Ribbon 5k Run/Walk to Overcome Ovarian Cancer. The 5k race took place in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park with over 1,500 participants. With the help of friends, family, and soccer alumnae, the soccer team raised over $1,200.00 for the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation. Bryn Mawr teammates Sarah Matteson and Collette Pullion finished the race in the Top 3 of their respective divisions (age/gender). Overall, the event raised more than $145,000 for ovarian cancer research and education. The mission of the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation is “to unite with our community and work together to promote awareness of ovarian cancer by education both women and physicians about the disease, to advocate for early diagnostic testing and more effective treatments and to raise funds to help advance research towards a cure.” More information on the foundation can be found at http://www.sandyovarian.org .
