Lancaster, Pa. – Cea Weaver and Greta Bednarczyk took home first place finishes in the 200-yard Free and 100-yard Breaststroke, respectively, as the Owls opened their 2007 season with a 121-75 loss to host Franklin and Marshall.
Weaver won the 200 Free in 2:03.79, one and a half seconds faster than the closest competitor to pick up the Owls first top finish of the season. Eight events later, Bednarczyk edged out fellow teammate Katia Belova by two tenths of second to pick up vital team points down the home stretch.
The 200-yard Free Relay of Teresa Palasits, Allison Shatz, Sarah Blatchly, and Weaver finished first in the final race of the meet. Their time of 1:53.07 was nineteen seconds faster than the second place team.
Bryn Mawr is 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the Centennial and will travel to Gettysburg Saturday, November 10, for another conference dual meet. Start time is set for 2:00 p.m.
