Bryn Mawr, Pa. – Sarah Blatchly, Lauren Earle, and Cea Weaver combined for seven first place finishes as Bryn Mawr fell to visiting McDaniel College 114-145 in Centennial Conference action Saturday afternoon.
Weaver led the Owls with three victories, the 1,000 free (11:17.17), 50 Free (27.22), and 100 Free (58.24). Blatchly took first in the 200 Free (2:05.19) and 500 Free (5:36.66) as Earle owned the 100 and 200 Back, finishing the races in 1:09.37 and 2:30.61, respectively.
Lindsay Warren-Shriner picked up a trio of second place finishes in the 1,000 Free (11:35.42), 500 Free (5:41.20), and the 200 IM (2:32.27). Sara Marlow turned in a second place finish in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:08.53.
The 200 Medley Relay of Earle, Marlow, Lauren Forster, and Blatchly touched out in second place with a time of 2:05.48 as the 400 Free Relay of Blatchly, Warren-Shriner, Allison Shatz, and Weaver also took home second place (4:1.08).
The loss drops the Owls 1-8 overall and 0-6 in conference dual meets. McDaniel improves to 2-7 overall and 2-4 in the Centennial. Bryn Mawr will return to the water on Saturday, February 9, as they travel to Collegeville to take on the Urinsus Bears. The meet has a 1:00 p.m. start time.
