Lancaster, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr tennis team had a good showing at the first Centennial Invitational hosted by Franklin and Marshall. Three singles players and two doubles team participated.
In singles action, #1 Karen Ginsburg defeated Dana Russo (F&M) 2-6,6-1, 10-5 in the first round. In the second rounds, Ginsburg lost to Caitie Drucker (Muhlenberg) 6-1,6-3. Playing in the number 4 position, Melissa Mansh fell to Jenn Powell (Muhlenberg) 6-2,6-0, in the round of 16. In the consolation round, Mansh lost to Jaclyn Porter (Haverford) 8-3. The last third and final singles player, Anna Dejdar (#5), was defeated by Ellen Berlinghof (Johns Hopkins) in the second round 6-0,6-0.In the consolation round, Dejdar lost of Karen Lavi (Haverford) 8-2
In doubles, the duo of Ginsburg/Mansh topped Russo/ Wood (F&M) 8-1 before downing Porter/Ryan (Haverford) 8-2 in the second round. In the semi-finals, Ginsburg/Mansh lost to Daciek/Bull 8-4. Dejdar/April Lee lost in the round of 16 to Annie McGillicudy/Caitlin McGovern (Dickinson) 8-5.
