TENNIS OPENS CENTENNIAL SCHEDULE WITH SWARTHMORE

Swarthmore, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr tennis team traveled down the Blue Route to take on conference foe Swarthmore. The Garnet claimed their third straight conference victory defeating the Owls 9-0.

Number two doubles, Mimi Nguyen and Leah Raj, pulled themselves with in one, 5-6, but were unable to withstand the combo of Committo/Hickman, as they fell 8-5. Melissa Mansh and April Lee, in the number three slot, were defeated 8-5 by Gall/Bangs, despite playing the match extremely tight.

Marie Sager, No. 3 singles, dropped her first set 3-6, battled back in the second to defeat Cignavitch, but eventually lost the point in the tie break, 5-3. Since the match was already decided, number five and six singles played a pro set.

The Owls are now 2-4 on the season and will travel to Carlisle on Saturday, March 22. Their match with Dickinson is set for a 1:00 p.m. start.
