Coaching Staff

Head Coach: Dan Talbot

Dan Talbot began coaching at Bryn Mawr in 1994 as a volunteer assistant cross country coach. That winter, he resurrected the College's Track & Field club with an eye towards improving the cross country program and establishing a successful varsity track & field team at Bryn Mawr.

In 1997 he took over head coaching duties for cross country, and in 1999 track & field was elevated to varsity status and Talbot was hired full time to coach both sports. Indoor Track was added as a varsity sport in 2001. From the start, Talbot has been committed to building a tradition of excellence in cross country and track & field at Bryn Mawr.

Talbot ran competitively for Tom Donnelly at Haverford College, and has earned Level II certifications in Endurance, Throws, Jumps, and Sprints/Hurdles/Relays from the USA Track & Field Coaching Education program. He is currently working on certification with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and teaches Weight Training, Archery, and Wellness at Bryn Mawr.

Under Talbot's guidance, Bryn Mawr's teams and individuals have improved steadily each year. In 2004 the Indoor team notched it's highest Conference finish ever, and Bryn Mawr had two National qualifiers including the school's first Track & Field All-American Joanna Simonis, who set a Centennial Conference record in the 800 meters and finished third at the NCAA Division III Championships outdoors.
