NYAME-MENSAH DASHES TO TWO FIRST PLACE FINISHES AT HAVERFORD QUAD

Haverford, Pa. – Sophomore Akua Nyame-Mensah recorded first place finishes in the 55m (7.58 seconds)and 200m (27.13 seconds) at the Haverford Quad Monday night.

In addition to Nyame-Mensah’s two first place finishes, junior Katie Weng recorded the fastest time of 10:50.78 in the 3000 meters.

Junior Katie Kent finished fifth in the shot put with an indoor personal best heave of 9.95 meters as classmate Marge Cheng smashed her personal best time in the 55m with a time of 8.07 seconds. Cheng added a fifth place finish in the 200m

Freshman Aigne Goldsby set a personal best in the 55m hurdles en route to a third place finish.

Head coach Dan Talbot was impressed with his team’s performance and stated “The Haverford Quad was our best meet yet, everyone continues to improve every week.”  

The Owls return to action in two weeks as they travel back to Haverford for the Paul Keough Invite. Meet will start at 12:00 noon.
