April Fitness Activity Descriptions Badminton : Join a group of enthusiastic players for a friendly match! Schwartz Gym Intro to Badminton: Want to learn how to play? Join Jody for badminton fundamentals! Schwartz Gym Basketball: Jump into this fast-paced game for some fun. Schwartz Gym Walking Group with Dan or Earl: Enjoy a brisk walk around campus and local neighborhoods to bring up your heart-rate, enjoy Mother Nature coming into spring bloom and breathe in some fresh air. Meet in Schwartz lobby. *Special Presentation by Dan Talbot- From Dawn to Dusk: Hostas through the season in the perennial garden. Learn about popular varieties, cultivation, propagation, pests, etc. Loc: TBA Water-Aerobics: Splash it up for an hour in our heated pool! Elevate your heart-rate while having fun getting a low-impact workout for your joints. Flow Yoga: This class is an ashtanga-based yoga class incorporating a variety of yoga poses including both standing and seated postures. The practice is dynamic, but done at a comfortable pace and is accessible for all beginning and intermediate levels. Please bring a yoga mat, Pilates mat, or towel. Cambrian Row 215-217 Yoga: Treat yourself to a relaxing hour of stretching, strengthening and meditation with Cindy in Cambrian Row 215-217. Beginners to advanced welcome! Rowing: Our experienced Crew coach will teach you the proper rowing form on the ergometer (rowing) machines to get a great total body workout! Individuals in this course will be exposed to endurance, speed and strength workouts along with receiving information on how to set up their own personal training program. Fitness Center Nutrition and Weight Management : Learn about Nutrition with Weight Management tips to compliment your physical activity from a Registered Dietician. Campus Center 200 Middle Management: Target your abs and core using fun equipment such as Physio and medicine balls and Pilates techniques. Upon completion of SmokeFREE, 9 out of 10 participants quit smoking. At the end of the first year, about one-thrid of participants are STILL smoke-free! |
