Concepts: tissue, organ, meristem, cambium, parenchyma,
collenchyma, sclerenchyma, chlorenchyma, aerenchyma, xylem, phloem,
epidermis, wood, periderm, cork, stomate (or stoma), turgor, form.
Questions:
- What physical factors determine organ form?
- Which tissue-types are associated with which anatomical
structures?
- Which tissue-types are associated with which physiological
functions?
- Which tissues are the most costly to produce? The least costly?
- Animals often have hundreds of tissue types. How do plants get away
with having only three?
