Founder and COO, Wall Street on Demand
Catherine joined James Tanner (see bio, below) soon after he started Wall Street On Demand, which has been a leading provider of services in the design, development and hosting of financial services websites, reports and tools for the past two decades. In 1996, the Company moved its headquarters to Boulder, Colorado, and just two years later the Company was acquired by Bridge Information Systems. In 2001, Reuters acquired Wall Street On Demand only to be bought back by the company and group of private investors in 2003. Goldman Sachs purchased Wall Street on Demand in 2006 and recently sold the company to the London-based company, Markit.
Over the years Catherine has lead Wall Street on Demand (now Markit on Demand) in a variety of roles, acting as the Chief Learning Officer, Chief Operating Officer, most recently Managing Director at Markit, championing organizational development while doing so. Her organic and energetic leadership style has sculpted company culture over the years and largely contributed to the company’s agility and success. Catherine has been leading teams and organizations for over 20 years. At 27, she was the national executive director of a non-profit in NYC. Her work and passion is creating innovative and collaborative cultures and developing the managers to lead them.
She has served on many non-profit and corporate boards and currently serves as a Special Representative to Bryn Mawr College Board of Trustees and as Co-Chair of the Two College Joint Council with Haverford College. The Boulder Chamber of Commerce presented Catherine with the Esprit Entrepreneurship Award in 2003.
James Tanner
Founder and CEO, Wall Street on Demand
James Tanner is an Executive Vice President at Markit responsible for data distribution services as well as Markit on Demand (previously Wall Street On Demand), a leading provider of services in the design, development and hosting of financial services websites, reports and tools. James joined Markit in 2010 when Wall Street on Demand was acquired by Markit. He has 20 years’ experience in the management and display of critical financial information.
James founded Wall Street On Demand in 1991 when working as an investment banker in New York and saw the potential of using new technology in order to make stock reports and charts available to individual investors for the first time. In 1996, the Company moved its headquarters to Boulder, Colorado. In 1998, the Company was acquired by Bridge Information Systems, which was then acquired by Reuters in 2001. In 2003, Wall Street On Demand and a group of private investors bought the firm back from Reuters. In April of 2006, Goldman Sachs acquired Wall Street On Demand.
James holds a BS from Haverford College and a MBA from Harvard Business School. Mr. Tanner has served on the Board of Directors of Fiberesin Inc. of Wisconsin, BulkMarkets.com of Chicago, Client Systems of Colorado, and Johnson International Funds of New York. In 2004, Jim received an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Jane Donohue, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President, YouGovHealthcare
Jane Donohue is a leading expert on healthcare market research with over 25 years of experience in the hospital and pharmaceutical marketplace. She is a seasoned executive with strong entrepreneurial experience.
Prior to leading YouGovHealthcare, Dr. Donohue co-founded and was CEO of Competency Assessment Solutions (CAS) a software and service company that provided performance and learning management solutions to healthcare institutions, such as WakeMed Health and Hospitals, Mayo Clinic affiliated hospital, and Catholic Healthcare West. CAS helps hospitals improve competence and ensure compliance with JCAHO. CAS was sold to Lawson in 2006.
Dr. Donohue founded and was CEO of Consumer Health Sciences (CHS) a patient centric market research firm. CHS rapidly became the “gold standard” in patient reported healthcare information products and services for the pharmaceutical industry in the United States and Europe. CHS worked with 9 of the top 10 global pharmaceutical manufactures. CHS was sold to WPP Group in 1999.
Dr. Donohue has held executive research positions at GfK Healthcare, Johnson & Johnson and Merck & Co. She is Past President of the Pharmaceutical Business Intelligence and Research Group. She holds a B.S. from St. Lawrence University, a M.S. from San Francisco State University and a Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr College.
