The residential community at Bryn Mawr forms a foundation for much
of the learning that goes on at the College. Ninety-eight percent of
students live on campus, forming friendships that shape their education
throughout their years at Bryn Mawr. The result
is a community where doors stay open and women grow as much by sharing
knowledge as by acquiring it.
Students learn to take control of their own lives at Bryn Mawr. The student body is the author of the social honor code,
a set of principles that emphasize mutual respect, and students have primary responsibiity for administering the code. Students also regularly provide advice to the offices that provide essential campus services. Living at Bryn Mawr gives students an unusual degree of independence in the context of a supportive community of peers.
