Student Staff Positions

Praxis Field Coordinators

The Praxis Field Coordinator will work with faculty to develop relevant fieldwork experiences for Praxis students and will match students with placements that fit their schedules and preferences.  The Field Coordinator will attend class once a week, keep in touch with the field supervisors and students throughout the semester, and conduct site visits once per semester.  In addition, the Field Placement Coordinator will facilitate Orientation sessions and other Praxis related workshops/in-class activities as requested by faculty.

VITA Lead Coordinator

The VITA Lead Coordinator will take a leadership role in organizing and implementing Bryn Mawr College’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) initiative with CADCOM in Norristown.  In addition, the Lead Coordinator will work closely with the VITA Coordinator to prepare her to take on the lead role in the following year.  In so doing, the CPIA VITA Lead Coordinator plays an integral role in maintaining a sustainable relationship between Bryn Mawr College and the Norristown community. 

VITA Coordinator

LEAP Coordinator

The LEAP Leadership Coordinator will work with other Civic Engagement Office (CEO) student coordinators and staff to support student leaders on campus and to promote leadership development opportunities for both established and emerging student leaders at Bryn Mawr.  This student coordinator will serve as a representative on the LEAP (Leadership Empowerment and Advancement Program) Planning Committee and assist the most recent cohort of LEAP graduates in coordinating ongoing campus organizing projects in addition to serving as a CEO liaison to campus groups engaged in service or activism activities.

Office Assistants

Office Assistants support the work of the Civic Engagement Office by assisting in clerical tasks that include, but are not limited to, answering the phone, photocopying, filing, and typing. On occasion, Office Assistants are expected to make deliveries, room reservations, and participate in staff meetings.

Outreach & Service Manager

The Outreach and Service Manager will work with other Civic Engagement Office (CEO) student coordinators and staff to promote involvement in service, activism and advocacy among members of the Bryn Mawr community.  Specifically, this student coordinator will be responsible for outreach to students who have had little involvement in service activities and will facilitate their connection to appropriate resources, events, and programs.  She will work closely with the Outreach and Service Coordinator in carrying out these duties and will train this student to take on the manager position and primary responsibility for the CEO’s outreach and service activities.

Outreach and Service Coordinator

The Outreach and Service Coordinator will work with other Civic Engagement Office (CEO) student coordinators and staff to promote involvement in service, activism and advocacy among members of the Bryn Mawr community.  Specifically, this student coordinator will be responsible for outreach to students who have had little involvement in service activities and will facilitate their connection to appropriate resources, events, and programs.  The Outreach and Service Coordinator will coordinate outreach activities; serve as a liaison between the CEO and students/student groups; and organize events and programs designed to encourage civic engagement among students who are new to community involvement.

Tutor Coordinators – America Counts and America Reads

America Counts and America Reads student coordinators work in a team of four to oversee the administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Ardmore Community Tutoring (ACT) program and Overbrook High School Tutoring program.  Tutor Coordinators will: recruit, hire, train & coordinate work-study tutors; attend a weekly staff meeting in the CEO;  manage all aspects of overseeing tutors including tracking attendance, matching tutors with tutees, scheduling, planning & facilitating monthly supervision sessions with tutors, and serving as primary contact for tutors.

Webmistress

The webmistress maintains the Civic Engagement Office’s website, performing duties that include updating text and photographs, removing outdated information, and general maintenance.  The webmistress develops new web pages as needed, and works with CEO staff and IT staff on campus to meet the office’s website needs.
