Scholars in Service to Pennsylvania

Scholars in Service to Pennsylvania is an initiative at Bryn Mawr that recognizes, trains, and supports students who are civically engaged. Ten selected students pledge to complete 450 hours of service in one calendar year, and, in exchange for that commitment, receive leadership and organizing training, support from the Civic Engagement Office staff and fellow Scholars, and participate in ongoing supervision and reflection activities.

The bulk of the service work is completed in the form of internships--each Scholar is expected to work in a community organization 8 - 10 hours per week and attend bi-weekly supervision/reflection sessions with the rest of the group. In addition, Scholars collaborate on group service and activism projects and programming for the rest of campus.

Currently all SISPA slots are filled. Please check back in the fall for updated application materials.
