VITA: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program recruits volunteers to work with CADCOM, an agency in Norristown, PA with a mission "to mobilize the human and financial resources of Montgomery County by initiating, developing and administering community and economic development programs designed to provide the tools needed to achieve self-sufficiency”. CPIA has been partnering with CADCOM since 2004 to help provide free tax-services to Norristown residents through the IRS-sponsored EITC-VITA program. Bryn Mawr College volunteers complete a tax law training program over winter break and begin volunteering weekly in late-January and continue through mid-April.* In 2009, the VITA Program had more than 30 active Bryn Mawr volunteers and brought more than one million dollars in tax returns and savings to the community members of Norristown and Montgomery County.

Information Sessions: Sunday, November 22nd at 9:00 in Campus Center 200 & Wednesday, December 2nd at 7:30 in Dalton 1
