• I need to record the grades for the following students for Worksheet 4. If you could bring your worksheet to the exam I'll record the grades then! My apologies for the glitch - it was caused by a software error. Students: Caldwell, Husain, Kim, Mattei, Tak, Yap.
• The final exam is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20th from 2-5pm in the regular lecture room. If you need to take the exam early, please let me know the last week of the term. It isn't a problem to arrange to take it early.
• There is now a news group available for Chemistry 103 students. Use the list to ask questions, find out what other people are asking about or to find partners for study groups or Chemistry At Large experiments. • Extra credit is available for coming to chemistry colloquia. Colloquia are held at 4 pm in the Berliner Lecture Room (Park 180). Come at 3:45 for snacks. The schedule is available here.

Chemistry At Large

These are available at the reserve desk in Collier Science Library. Most can be checked out for 24 hours. Please let the professor know if anything in a kit needs replacing! These are worth 1 quiz or worksheet of extra credit (maximum two). Have all the extra credit you can get? Additional write-ups will be entered into the end of term drawing...

• Element Hunt A scavenger hunt using the periodic table. Perk up your dinner time conversation with "elements" of trivia!
• A Penny for your Thoughts Redox reactions you can do at dinner. Available from the reserve desk in Collier Science Library. Directions to Collier from the lecture room: Go out the doors and down the hall toward Dr. Francl's office. Take the stairs to your right up to the third floor. The entrance to the library is directly across from the stairs.

• A sample exam is available. Note there is not a key, it's not meant as study aid, but to let you see the style I use when writing an exam. This course will cover slightly different material!

Despite the fact we talk about Kekule structures, the structural formulas we use were not developed by Kekule, but by a competitor, Couper.

• Some good gas problems with answers. If you want more practice than the book gives, use these. There are a few topics we didn't cover (for example, diffusion of gases) for which there are problems.
