Problem Sets
Problem sets will not be graded collected nor graded.
However
, practicing skills discussed in lecture by working problems is
highly
recommended.
Suggested problems for each chapter are listed in the course schedule.
Quizzes
Quizzes will feature problems similar to homework problems
Quiz problems will be completed in
assigned
small groups for 15 minutes on the day the Quiz is distributed.
Quizzes will be handed out on the dates indicated on the course schedule. Quizzes are due at the beginning of the next class period.
The lowest quiz grade will be dropped. No make-up quizzes will be given.
Examinations
There will be 3 hour exams and a final exam. Hour exam dates are shown on the calendar.
The final will be comprehensive.
Use additional problems at the end of each chapter for practice. The solutions for many problems are available in the Student Solutions Manual.
Grading
Lab: 33%
Lecture: 67% = 27% (final) + 7.5% (quiz) + 25%(hour exam) + 7.5% (project)
Class attendance will be considered for borderline cases!
