Flexible Programs and Graduate Placement

The chemistry programs are flexible, and are carefully tailored to fit the background, the needs, and the aspirations of each student. For example, some students pursue degrees part-time while working in industrial research laboratories. All students have an opportunity to serve as a teaching assistant and it is generally recommended that students engage in some teaching while in our graduate program. We regard teaching as an important component in the development of our students.

We are proud of the successes that our graduates have had in securing employment and in making significant contributions to the chemical profession. Recent graduates have assumed postdoctoral research positions at Stanford University, the University of California at Santa Cruz and the University of Pennsylvania; industrial research positions at Merck, Roche BioScience, GlaxoSmithKline, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Wyeth; and faculty positions at Haverford College, Chestnut Hill College, University of New Haven, Rosemont College, James Madison University, Drexel University and Eastern College.
