Pulling from his award winning book of philosophy – Happiness Is – and years of helping individuals coping with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, Dr. Shea takes the audience on a provocative journey into the importance of philosophical inquiry and its usefulness in unstalling stalled treatment planning, enhancing the therapeutic alliance, and preventing suicide. An internationally acclaimed clinical innovator and author of six books, Dr. Shea’s text Psychiatric Interviewing: the Art of Understanding, has been chosen by the Medical Library Association for the Brandon Hill List as one of the 16 most important books in the field of psychiatry. |
