The Wealth and Class Project maps three different demographic groups living in Philadelphia in 1846 and 1865. The Philadelphia Club was an elite social club; Wealthy citizens of Philadelphia represented the wealthiest men of the city in 1846 and 1865; and those listed as laborers in the 1847 and 65 city directories represent the working-class. The intention of this project was to chart the residential patterns of these three demographic groups, in an effort to compare the geography of class and wealth during the mid 19th century in Philadelphia.
