This site, designed by Jennifer Wagner, a Bryn Mawr College junior, investigates how class influenced the program, or layout, and geographic location of hotels built in Philadelphia during the 19th century. Key examples of upper, middle and lower class hotels are presented to demonstrate the programmatic, stylistic, and social differences of these accommodations.
