Assignments:

Reading response 1: explore some key curiosities raised by our site visit, pursuing them through selected scholarly writings. Rather than mainly focusing in specifically on the place we visited, they should be chosen to help you contextualize and gain a fuller understanding of that place in ways that engage your interest.

Read these well-chosen pieces, whether articles in scholarly journals, purposefully selected parts of books, or other works. Don't stick strictly to on-line resources; visit and browse the pertinent shelves, and see what you can find from their notes and references. Then write a 2-3 pp. account that states what you were pursuing, and briefly describes the scope and main points of each reading. Close this by then returning to your question: Did this resolve what you wanted to know, or help at all? Would you now reframe your question? Can you think of other ways to address it effectively?

For 2 Feb.

Write up another 2-3 pp. account that states what you were pursuing, and briefly describes the scope and main points of each reading. Close this by then returning to your question(s): Did this resolve what you wanted to know, or help at all? Would you now reframe your question? Can you think of other ways to address it effectively?
