If you have problems installing QuickTime, you may call the Bryn Mawr College User Services Help Desk at 610/526-7440. Our staff will be happy to advise you on the process.
Please note, however, that when downloading difficulties occur the reasons are sometimes related to specific computers’ configuration; more likely, however, these are due to restrictions imposed by your Internet Service Provider or network administrator. In such cases, our ability to help will be extremely limited. We strongly recommend that you contact your workplace or service provider’s technical support staff first. Note that some corporate networks maintain firewalls that prevent viewing or utilizing certain content.

3. Do I need a special internet connection?
No. A high-speed connection will see a better quality picture. A 56k connection speed is adequate, but a DSL or Cable connection will provide a better experience. We've done everything we can to try to allow for lower bandwidth connections to have a good experience.

4. Will I be able to test whether or not I can view the webcast before it actually starts?
Yes. If you go to the main webcast page (http://www.brynmawr.edu/classicsforum/webcast.shtml), we will be streaming live for several hours before the event begins. If you have difficulties seeing anything, check your browser and plugin.

5. How do I ask a question during the webcast?
Click on the Submit Question button and a window will pop up that allows you to enter your question. Type in your question and then hit the submit button. A person in the webcast room will receive your question and ask the presenter. Depending on how many questions are submitted, your question may not be asked during the webcast itself.

6. What should I do if the webcast "freezes"?
Try reloading the page or quitting and then restarting your browser. You may also try opening the webcast in QuickTime. To do this, open the QuickTime program and select

The broadcast will be available to view online (though not live) at a later date should you wish to view it or experience problems during the live broadcast.
